We do not get much snow in North Texas. We used to get more than we do now, but in the 23 years we have been here it has been less and less.

So, today, to wake up to some flurries and some white on the ground was a lot of fun. It was just flurries, heavy to light, mostly light but pretty on the lighter side . . Thought I would share a few pictures of the yard for those of you who do not get any snow, and if you get a lot more, you can have a good laugh at what we Texans call snow.

We are used to extreme heat and it really rarely bothers us. It is just the way it is. But these cold days are so extreme for us, we do not always know what to do !!

They announced there could be up to an inch of wintery mix and so we had to pick up our weekly groceries and Knew it would be dicey what we be in the store if we waited, we went when my husband got home from work around nine Friday night. Imagine our shock when the store was already wiped out of most stuff. Some categories had food, but many were just gone. I could not believe it. 

The cashier told me people had stormed the store between 5:30 and 8:30 and wiped it out. She said she had people spend as much as 900 bucks.

I am not sure why people do that ? How much do you need for a weekend ? It is hard because then others did not get what they needed because it was all gone. The freezers were wiped out of so many ordinary items, and it was just a shock. Luckily being on carnivore eating, we do not eat most of what was gone, but the meat dept was empty of many items as well. I wanted a package of stew meat, but I guess stew was on everyones mind, there was NONE !!

So, I took just a few pictures today to show the little snow we got.             

My little pool herb garden, we will keep it but make it look better next year, some bricks around it !! Hoping the zinnias and basil sowed seeds this year , the oregano seems to survive the cold for the next year !!

So, just these few, the snow was so light it really does not show up in any pictures of any distance.

Just a fun little change of pace for our area, and basicly our entire winter in one weekend, lol !

There is a chance we could have another round before spring, but not too likely. That used to be the case, but the weather has changed so much the last ten years !!
